Hardwood Floor Care
& Cleaning Instructions

Cleaning your floors properly is the single most important thing you can do to protect your investment. General maintenance on your hardwood floor other than normal day to day cleaning is called a Buff & Coat or re-coat.

The average time before you need to Buff & Coat is three to five years. If you do not clean your floors properly it will cause a problem when you try to recoat. Simply put, the new coat will not adhere to your existing floor.

NEVER CLEAN A POLYURETHANE OR SEALED FLOOR WITH THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
  1. Any type of paste wax
  2. Pledge
  3. Endust
  4. Mop-n-Glo
  5. Murphy's Oil Soap
  6. Furniture Polish
  7. Orange Glo
  8. Bruce Floor Cleaner
  9. Cleaners w/Petroleum Base
  10. Cleaners w/Ammonia
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Vacuum or Dust mop regularly. Any dirt or debris left on your floor will wear on the finish like sandpaper. Put Chair Pads on any piece of furniture that sits directly on the hardwood. We suggest Pro-Care Citrus Cleaner for cleaning your floor. We feel this is the best cleaner on the market. You can also use White Vinegar and water, about 1/2 cup to one gallon of water. The white vinegar and water will not harm your finish or cause an adhesion problem, but it will make your floors look cloudy over a period of time. Do not put anything on your floors you can not clean a window with. If you have any questions please call us or go to the contact us page before you try a new product.
